Stable keeper maketh Oath that in or about January last the boroners
Inquest Sat on the Body of Elizabeth Furney< no role > a Poor Girl who was bound
out by the Parish of Saint Michaels in Southampton Apprentice to the
above Defendant Joseph bockbill< no role > who lived on Mill hill in the said parish
of Saint Luke Water String maker and brought in their verdict will full murde
from the ill usage which she received from the said bock bill Where upon
Elizabeth Reed< no role > and Martha Poor< no role > of Saint Lukes Work house Old Street
Ann Melton< no role > of Mill hill aforesaid Jane Pickering< no role > of the same place
Robert price< no role > Master of Saint Lukes Work house William Rowe< no role > of Golden Lane
in the said Parish of Saint Luke and Thomas Godman< no role > of Old Street in the said
Parish of Saint Luke were bound over as this Deponent is informed & beleives
by George Grew< no role > Esquire one of the Coroner for the said County of Middlesex
to appear at the then next ensuing Session to prosecute the said Cock bill
In Consequences where of he this Deponent then being one of the Overseers
of the Poor of the said parish of Saint Luke Did apply to a Magistrate and
obtained as Warrant for the apprehending and bringing to Justice the said
Cock bill And this Deponent Saith that her together with a proper officer
and several other persons as his Assistants made diligent Search after
the said Cock bill at his Lodgings and divers other places but they could not
find the said bockbill the said bockbill as this Deponent verily beleives
did abscond for fear of being brought to Justice for the aforesaid Crime
whereupon this Deponent caused an Advertisement to be published in the
Daily Advertiser for the apprehending and bringing to Justice the said Cock bill
offering a Reward of Ten Guineasto be paid on his Conviction And
this Deponent further saith that he hath used his atmost endeavours
to apprehend the said Coch bill but to no Effect
