At the General Session of the Peace holden at Hicks Hall
in Saint John Street in and for the County aforesaid by Adjournment
on Friday the Seventh day of December in the Thirty third year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the second King of Great
Britain Etc Before Thomas Lane< no role > Francis Bedwell< no role > Bartholomew
Hammond
< no role > and John Derbyshire Birkhead< no role > Esquires and others
their Fellows Justices of our said Lord the King Assigned to keep
the Peace in the County aforesaid and also to her and Determine
divers Felonies Trespasses and other Misdeeds Committed in the
same County.

Whereas the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the Parish of Saint George Hanover Square in the County of
Middlesex Exhibited their Petition and appeal to this Court
Setting forth that by Virtue of an Order or Pass Warrant under the hands
and Seals of Thomas Balack< no role > and Thomas Kynaston< no role > Esquires two of
his Majesty's Justices of the peace for the City and Liberty of Westminster
(one whereof being of the Quorum) bearing date the Ninth day of November
last James Hay< no role > Katherine < no role > his Wife and their Child Jane < no role > aged about
twelve Years were removed from the Parish of Saint James within the
Liberty of Westminster in the County of Middlesex to the said Parish
of Saint George Hanover Square as the Place of their last legal
Settlement whereby the Petitioners think themselves aggrieved
Now upon bearing of what hath been Alledged on either side by the
respective Churchwardens and Overseers their Council and Witnesses in
and concerning the Premisses it is there upon Ordered by and with the
Consent of Mr. Lane of Council for the Churchwardens and Overseers of
the poor of the said Parish of Saint James that the said Warrant and
Adjudication of the said two Justices of the Peace be Quashed and
Vacated and that the Appeal aforesaid be and the same is hereby
allowed And it is furthermore Ordered that the said poor Man and
his Wife and Child above named be conveyed back and delivered over to
the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of
Saint James or one of them together with a Copy of this Order
who are hereby required to receive the said Poor persons and
Provide for them According to Law.
