The Severall Informations of Dennis Cummins< no role > , Thomas James< no role > ,
Peter King< no role > , & Bazil Fielding Palmer< no role > taken & acknowledged on
Behalf of our Sovereign Lord the King touching the Death of William
Talbot
< no role > at the Kings Head the Corner of Princes Street Drury Lane
in the parish of Saint Gyles in the Fields on the thirteenth Day of
October 1760 before Mr George Grew< no role > one Coroner of the County of
Middlesex on an Inquisition then & there taken on View of the Body
of the said William Talbot< no role > as Under written.

Dennis Cummins< no role > of the Kings Head Drury Lane Victualler being
Sworn Saith that on Saturday the 11th. Day of October about 4 afternoon in this present Year
1760 One William Talbott< no role > & One Patrick McCarty< no role > came into this Deponts
House the sd Kings Head; They called for a Tankard of Beer & drank part of
It McCarty desired Talbott to stay till he went to Stan hope Street, that he
would come back again in a few Minutes & bring him Money, or pay his
Demand, Talbott said he would go along with him but McCarty said he need
not for that He would come again, & swore to It: Then they both went out of
this Deponts House by the Door going into Princes Street ; In a few minutes
after Deponent was told McCarty was arrested; Depont. went to the last
named Door & saw two or 3 men had laid hold on McCarty & they brought
him round to the Drury Lane door of the same House & all came in McCarty
demanded what Right they had to lay hold on him: Deponent was about 5 Yards
distant from Talbot & McCarty of the others he only knows Thomas James< no role >
Depont. did not see the wound given to Talbot but there is a great wound under
his left Arm on the side of his Body but did then see a naked Knife in McCartys
hand And Talbot said I believe I am killed & dyed in a few Minutes; Depont. believes
McCarty gave Talbot the wound: Further says that he has heard McCarty say
he would never be taken (is) arrested but that he would be the Death ofany Man
the first who attempted to do It.

The same day Time & place this Depont. was one who took hold of McCarty on
Princes Street in Assistance of the deced Wm: Talbott< no role > a Brother Officer & went
with Others into the sd Kings Head and McCarty asked Talbott there, how
much the Money was, who answered, near five pounds, but I'll look, & McCarty
said I'll pay you, & put his Hand to his Breeches as tho' he would take money from
his Pockett but instead of Cash Mc Carty drew out a large Cook's knife or carving
knife with a blade of 9 Inches long: This Deponent saw McCarty thrust the
Blade of the said Knife into the body of said Talbott & draw It out again & vapon
about with It; Dept. says the wound is under Talbotts left Arm
