WHEREAS the Court of General [..] Quarter Sessions of the Peace held for the County of Middlesex
at Hicks Hall
in St. John Street
in the County aforesaid by Adjournment on Thursday the [..]
twenty third Day of October [..] in the Twenty [..] ninth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Second, King of Great-Britain, Etc. did
(by Virtue of the Act of Parliament made in the Twelfth Year of his Reign; Intitled, An Act for the more easy assessing, col
lecting, and levying of County Rates) order that a General Rate should be made and assessed upon every Town, Parish, or Place
in the said County for raising the Sum of Twelve Hundred pounds to Answer the Ends and Purposes
mentioned in the said Act, which Sum the said Court thought necessary for the same Purposes. And to the Intent that the said
Sum might be raised for those Purposes, the said Court by Virtue of the said Act did Assess upon every Town. Parish, and
Place here undermentioned, within your Division or District, and within the Jurisdiction and Authority of the same Court,
as their Quota or Proportion towards the raising the said Sum of Twelve Hundred pounds the respective Sums of
Money following (that is to say)
