Depositions touching the Death of Elizabeth Norman< no role > taken
before John King< no role > Esqr . One of the Coroners for the County of Middlesex
the 8th: day of Decemr.1753.

Charles Lane< no role > of Glocester Court White Cross Street on his Oath Saith that on
Monday the 12th: day of Novemr. 1753. about 5 in the Evening. he heard a Noise
upon which his Mother bid him open the door, Says that he opend the Door, and saw
a Man standing on the other side of the way with almost half a brickbat in his
hand, and a woman his wife was on the other side of the way, and heard her cry
out you Dog I keep you, and then saw the Deceased Mrs. Norman put her Head,
out at her own door, to see what was the matter, And then heard the Mans Wife
cry out for gods sake Mistress take care meaning to Mrs. Norman, And before the
the words were hardly out of her Mouth, he this Depenent saw the Brickbat
come with great Violence, and saw it hit Mrs. Norman on the forehead, and
rebounded back again into the Kennell and then saw Mrs. Norman Clap her
two hands up to her face, and Cryed out I am almost Killed, and bled very
much, and upon that Mr. Norman her Husband went out with his Son, and
brought the Man into the House, who as this Deponent is informd since is
one Samuel Portman< no role >

Elizabeth Willis< no role > On her Oath saith that on hearing a Noise she went out and saw the
Deceased Elizabeth Norman< no role > all Bloody, with her hands held upto her Forehead, And cryed
out for help, And then her Husband and his son lay hold of the Man, and heard him
own that he fling the Brickbat but not with any intent to hurl anybody, Says that
she this Deponent attended her all the time she lived, And after heard her complain
of a pain in her head, neck, and Back But for the most part of her head, And said
that it would be the Cause of her Death

George Norman< no role > Husband to the Deced on his Oath saith, that he and his son were
Sitting by the fire And his Wife was Washing by the Window just close to the Door
and hearing of a Noise she opend the Door to look out, and then, received the Blow
Says that he and his Son went after the Man and brought him into the home
and heard him Acknowledge the flinging of the Brickbat, but not with any
intent to hurt any body further saith that his wife Languished from the 12th:
of Novemr. untill the 5th: of Decemr. other dyed of the said wound.
