A the General Session of the Peace of our Sovereign Lord the King holden for the County of Middx at Hickshall
in St. John Street in the County aforesaid by adjournment on Thursday the twenty eighth day of February in the
twenty fourth year of the reign of our sovereign Lord George the second King of Great Britain Etc

Upon the humble Petition of the Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Ealing in this
County exhibited unto this Court setting forth that on or about the thirteenth day of November last
as our Ann Derrick < no role > otherwise Ann Bromley< no role > Singlewoman was wandring & begging in the said Parish
she was delivered of a male Bastard child there, whereby she & her said child become chargeable
to the said Parish And that the Petitioners did detain the said woman in custody untill the twenty
sixth day of December last when they conveyed her before King Gould< no role > This name instance is in set 235. Esqr: one of his Majesty's Justices
of the peace for this County who examined her and committed her to the House of Correction
at Clerkenwell pursuant to the Statute in such case made, And the Petitioners therefore
prayed that this Court would be pleased to order the Treasurer of this County to pay the
Petitioners such a sum of money on the Court should adjudg a reasonable satisfaction for
the charges the said parish has been at put unto or account of the said Ann Derrick
otherwise Bromley and her said child, And It now appearing to this Court by the Report
of Vigerus Edwards< no role > Hammond Cross< no role > This name instance is in set 230. & Richard Chamberlayne< no role > Esquires Justices of the
peace of this County that they have examined into the matter of the said petition, and are of
opinion that the Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Ealing be allowed the
sum of two pounds and eight shillings which they adjudge a reasonable satisfaction for the
charges which they have been at in releiving & maintaining the said Ann Derrick otherwise
Ann Bromley< no role > the Vagrant and her child in the Workhouse of the said Parish, This Court being
of the same opinion with the said Justices of the peace doth confirm the said Report, And doth
by virtue of the statute in such case made order that Mr. John Higgs< no role > Treasurer of this County do
pay unto the Chruchwardens & Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Ealing or one of them
the sum of two pounds and eight shillings which this Court doth allow them for the charges
above mentioned, And that the receipt of them or one of them with this order shall be a sufficient discharge to the
said Treasurer for such payment,
