of the Peace for the County of Middx
in their Gen Quarter Session of the
Peace Assembled

The Humble Petition of Richd Wills< no role >
Sheweth

That your Petitioner was bound an Apprentice to
Edwd Jemmett< no role > of the Parish of St. Martin in the Fields in
the County of Middx Distiller by Indentures bearing Date
the Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord
One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty Seven for the Term of
Seven Years.

That on or about the third Day of November last
about the Hour of in the Evening your Petitioner said Master
without any Provocation whatsoever beat your Petr in a very
cruet and severe Manner with a Horse Whip and pushed your
Pet along his Shop with great Violence and repeated Blows
with the sd Horse Whip and forced your Petr to the Street Door
and then Shut and bolted the Door against your Petr. to
prevent his coming in again the said Mr. Jemmett using
many Oaths & Imprecations that your Petr. shou'd never
enter his House again so long as he lived

That your Petr. has ever since been absent
from his said Masters House dreading to return to his Service
for Fear of being treated in the same cruel Manner of Worse

Your Petr. therefore most humbly prays
Your Worships to discharge him from his said Indentures of
Apprenticeship or to grant him such Relief in the Remes as
to your Worships shall seem meet And goure Petr. as in Duty
bound will ever pray etc
