for the County of Middlesex at their General Quarter
Sessions of the peace held in and for the said County

The Humble Petition of Elizabeth Stenton< no role >

Sheweth


That by Indenture dated the Thirteenth day of September
which was in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and
forty Four the Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the parish
of St Botolph without Bishopsgate London (with the Consent of two
of his Majestys Justices of the peace for the said City)Did put of [..]
your Petitioner Apprentice to Susanna Wood< no role > of the Parish of St
Leonard Shoreditch in the county of Middlesex to Serve the said
Susanna Wood< no role > till She the said Elizabeth Stenton< no role > Should Attain
her Age of Twenty one Years

That your said Petitioners said Mistress has most Gruethey
Beaten and Abused your Petr at divers times without any stroncation
and about Two Months ago your Petr Mistress Struck her with
an Iron Spindle and Dislocated your Petr Clbow so that your
Petr must have lost the Use of her right hand had it not been [..]
for the great Care of the Surgeon of the London Infirmary

That your Petr verily believes that if the Shod Continual
with her said Mistress the is so very Passionate and Cruel she
will one daly kill or Lane your Petitioner

That your Petr said Mistress is now Married to one
Mr. Samuel Bates< no role > and he and Your Petr said Mistress have
Now Agreed that your Petr may be Discharged from the said
Indenture

Therefore your Petr most humbly prays your Worshipp [..]
will be pleased to Discharge your Petr from her said [..]
Apprentiship

And Your Petr shall ever Pray etc
