Whereas Complaint hate been made by you the Church-warden
and Overseer of the Poor of the Said Parish of Saint Luke
unto us whose Hands
and Seals are hereunto fet, two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace
(whereof one is of the Quorum) for the Country aforesaid,
That Richard Garrett< no role > & Elizabeth < no role > his-
Wife are
lately intruded and Come into Your said Parish of
there to inhabit asParishioner s contrary to the Laws relating to
the Settlement of the Poor, and are there like to become charge-
able, if not timely prevented: And Whereas, upon due Examinati-
on and Enquiry made into the Premises Upon Oath and
other Circumstances
it appears unto us, and we accordingly adjudge, That the Said
Richard & Elizabeth are
like to become chargeable unto the Said Parish of Saint Luke
and that the laft legal Place of
Settlement of the Said. Richard & Elizabeth
is the Said Parish of
Saint Botolph Aldgate London
These are therefore in his Majesty's Name, to order and require you
the Said Church-warden and Oversees of the Poor of the parish of
Saint Botolph aldgate London
These are therefore in his Majesty's Name, to order and require you
the Said Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of
Saint Luke aforesaid, that You
or some of you, do forthwith remove and convey the said Richard
& Elizabeth
from your Said Parish of Saint Luke
to the said parish of Saint Botolph
Aldgate London and them deliver
to the Church-warden and Overseers of the Poor there, or some or
one of them, together with this our Warrant or Order,or a true
Copy hereof ;whereby they are like wife required in his Majesty's
Name, and by Virtue of the Statutes in such Cafe made, forthwith to
receive the said Richard Elizabeth
into their said Parish Care and Provide for them
as their own Parishioners Given under our Hands and Seals, the
10th Day of September in the Year of our
Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and thirty Seven
