To the Right Worshipfull the Chairman and the
rest of the Justices Assembled at the Generall
Quarter Sessions of the Peace at Hicks Hall in St.
John Street in and for the County of Middlesex

The Humble Petition & appeal of John Hendrick< no role >

Sheweth

That for severall Years past yor. Petr. his predecessors
rented by Lease from the City of London A certain messnage or
Tenement in the parish of St. Luke Middlesex comenly called or
know by the name or Sign of the Barking Doggs

That yor. Petr. & his predecessors also rented by Lease a peace
or parcell of certain fields comenly called or known by the name of
Farthing Pye house fields lying in the severall Parishes of Saint
Leonard Shoreditch & St. Luke Middlesex aforesd. but yor. Petr. or his
predecessors never paid any Taxes for the same they being paid by
the owner of the other part of the said fields by\ut to wat Parish
Yor. Petr. Knows not

That yor. Petr. said Lease of his said Messuage being near
Expiring yor. Petr. did Build & Erect a Dwelling house on the said Parish
or parcell of Ground which is now called or Know by the name [..]
sign of the Barking Doggs

That since the erecting & Making of the said Building
Yor. Petr. has been assessed to the Poor and other Parochial Rates
to both the said Parishes & each them have deemed him as their
inhabitant & as such have made him chargeable to Parish dues

And unless yor. Petr. Complys with the demands of the sd.
severall & respective Parishes The Parochial Officers thereof
threaten to distrain yor. Petr. Goods

Yor. Petr. therefore humbly prays your
Worships that in regard as he is ready and
Willing to pay the assessments to either of
the said Parishes you would be pleased to
take his Case into consideration & order him
such Releif in the premisses as to your
Worships shall seem meet

And yor. Petrs. shall ever pray Etc
