The Several Examinations of William
Long by and William Bird< no role > Taken before
us True of his Majesties Justices of the
France for the said County

Who upon their Oaths Severally sayThe said William Bird< no role > [..]
saith that sometime in the begining of May Last one samuel Bridge< no role >
came into A publick house at the sign of the Ship & Footman on
or near Tower Hill and then & there Worte a Letter and Inclosed there
a contain piece of paper which said Samll. declared was a Note [..]
Bill on Collll. Norton Lientent. Governoar of Chelsea College for
money and Agreed with this Examt. to Carry the said Letter with the
said Note therein us to sd. Colll. Norton for the Contents there of Asd [..]
Sd. Examt. Bird on his Oath [..] further saith that he according by
carried Said Letter (the Same being first Sealed up and directed by
Said Bridges For Colll Norton Deputy Governour at Chelsea
or to that Effect this Examt. being pefetive as to the words here us [..]
to be Superscribed on Sd. Letter; And the Examt. Bird further [..]
his Oath saith that he having Carried & Delivered said Letter to [..]
Norton afsd. he was Stepet & taken into Custody on accot. of bad [..]
being forged and was accordingly bound ever to answr. the same [..]

And Sd. William Longly< no role > on his Oath Saith that he seen
the said Samuel Bird< no role > goes Write a Letter in the beginning of
May last at the Ship & footman on Tower Hill aforesaid or [..]
[..] saying it was for Honey to be
paid by Collll. Norton Deputy Governour of Chelsea College
And that said Bridges pretended then to be a Captain of a
ship and had not Since to go to get it himself being Obliged to
go aboard.
