At the [..] Session of Oyer and Terminer of our Sovereigne Lord the
King holden for the County of Middx at Hicks Hall in St. John Street in the said
County by Adjournment on Saturday the Thirteenth day of September in
the ninth year of the reigne of our Sovereigne Lord George the Second of
Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith

Who hath pleaded not Guilty to an Indictment against him for a Tresspass
and Misdemeanor is ordered to find Sufficient Sureties for his Personall
Appearance at the next Session of Oyer and Terminer to be holden for
this County to try his Traverse upon the said Indictment To remain till he
find such Sureties then to be Delivered paying his Fees 0..4..8

Who hath Confessed to an Indictment agst. him for unlawfully procureing
himself to be Admitted an out Penssioner in the Royall Hospitall of Chelsea
under pretence of his Serving as Soldier in the first Regiment of Foot
Guards and that he was not otherwise Provided for by the Government
Whereas the said William Clayton< no role > at such time was otherwisel provided for
and did receive a Penssion of five pence by the Day of the said College or
Hospitall as an out Penssioner of the said College from the Regiment of
Foot Commanded by Joseph Sabine< no role > Esqr . And under the False pretence aforesd
fraudulently did receive from the Pay master of the said Hospitall divers [..]
Sums of Money amounting in the whole to the sume of Thirty Pounds
Seventeen Shillings and Eleven Pence is fined for the said Offence one Shilling
which is ordered to be Estreated and he is to be Delivered out of New Prison
aforesaid and is Committed to the House of Correction at Clerkenwell in
this County there to be kept to hard Labour for the Space of Six Months
and Within the Space of that time he is to be Set in and upon the Pillory at
or very near the London Guard Gate in Chelsea on Two Severall Days
Sushas the Sherriffe of this County Shall within that time Appoint
for the Space of one hour on Each Day between the hours of Eleven of
the Clock in the forenoon and one of the Clock in the afternoon on Each of
the sd. Days with an Inscription in Paper to be putt upon the Breast
of the said William Clayton< no role > [..] on each of the said Days denoting his
Offence To remain in the House Correction aforesaid untill he under goe
the said Punishment then to be Delivered Paying his Fees.
