the County of Middx in their Generall Quarter Sessions
Assembled.

The humble Petition of George Burton< no role > .

Sheweth


That your Petr. became bound by Indenture of Apprenticehood
bearing date the eleventh day of July 1732 to James
Chevallier
< no role > of Old Southampton buildings in the County of
Middx Peruke maker for the term of nine Yeares to
learn his Art.

That your Petr. in last June Sessions exhibited his humble
Peticon to this Court alledging therein that your Petr. was
very much beat and abused & prayed to be discharged but
on hearing the Sd Peticon was dismist & your Petr. ordered
to goe house to his Master & likewise that his Master
was Ordered not to give him immoderate Correction,

That your Petrs. Master hath since cruelly & inhumanely
beat & Kickt your Petr. ore the Head whereby your
Petr. became deaf for upwards of a Fortnight.

That your Petrs. Master is Subject to great Passion in which
your Petr. received a hick near your Petrs. Grain whereby
your Petr. is became Bursten & severall other Blows and
Hicks whereby your Petr. was very much bruised & hurty

That your Petr. having a natural aversion to Choose
your Petrs. Mother at the time when your Petrs. became
bound did agree wth: his Master that your Petr. shod. be
allowed come Butter or told meat for Break fast or
supper That your Petr. hath had [..] only [..] Bread
& smal Bere for break fast & supper altho your Petrs.
Master received wth. your Petr. Twenty Pounds in
Money.

Yor Petr. therefore most humbly prays
that he may be discharged from his sd Master
& that your Petrs. Master may be ordered by
this Honble Court to return or pay back to
your Petrs. Mother or Friends the Sd. Sume of
twenty pounds reced [..] with your Petr. in
order to turn over or replace your Petr. to
another Master.

And your Petr. shall pray Etc.
