the County of Middlesex the Defendant in the above
Cause maketh Oath that James Hope< no role > Gentleman
is a Materiall witness for this Deponent in the above
Cause, and this Deponent Further saith that the said
James Hope< no role > as this Deponent is informed and
believes is now in Holland and will not retorn
to London till the End of May next and this Deponent
Further saith that he does not think himself safe
to goe on to Tryall in the above Cause without the
testimony of the said James Hopes. [..]
