The King against Stephen Rogers< no role >

Samuel Cowper< no role > of Broadstreet in the Parish of St. George
in the County of Middlesex Attorney for the Deft in this Cause
Maketh Oath that on Thursday last being the fourth day of
this Instant Month of October 1733 he went to Mr Thomas
Dunn
< no role > s house at Limehouse to Enquire of him if he was concerned
as Attorney agent or Sollicitor for William White< no role > the prosecutor
in this Cause he the Said Mr Dunn being from house his Servant
informed this Deponent that he was you to the Globe at Black
Well where this Deponent went, and there he found the said
Mr Dunn, who Acknowledg'd he was concerned for him the said
William White< no role > as his Attorney in this prosecucon but he said
he had heard the Said White was run away from the Nags
head Jun in White Chappel where he was a Sepster I ask'd
him the said Mr. Dunn if he knew or heard where he the said
White was you in Order that I might Serve him with Notice
of Tryall he reply'd no Upon which I lost a Copy of the Notice
hereunto Annexted directed to the said Mr. Tho: Dunn Attorney
Agent or Sols for the prosecutor and which Said Notice he the Said
Mr. Dunn accepted of And this Deponat further Sayth on the
Same day he went to Mr Bartletts house knowne by the signed
of the Nags head Inn in White Chappel abovesaid where this
Deponant was inform'd the said William White< no role > the prosecutor
was or had been of late the Japster to the said Inn and this
Deponant asking for the said Mr. Bartlett the master of the said
Inn answer was made he was not at home upon which asking
for Mrs. Bartlett a person standing by answered her name
