WHEREAS it appeareth unto us, two of His Majesty' Justices of
the Peace for the said County of Midd ' (Quor' Unus) by the Com-
plaint of the Church-wardens and Overseers of the poor of the
Parish - of St. James Clerkenwell .in the said County, that
alice Hall< no role > Widow & her Three Children Vizts. Elizth< no role > . Aged
about 18 yeards Rebecca< no role > aged about 16 Years and Temperance< no role >
aged about 10 yeards
lately come, and intruded into the saidParishofSt James
Clerkenwell endeavouring to gain a Settlement there, contrary to Law,
andare likely tobecome a great Charge to the saidParish
which we adjudge to be true: And, Whereas, upon the Examination of
the sd. alice Hall< no role > taken upon Oath, it appears to us, that the
saidfour personswas last legally settled in thePresinct
of Whitefryers
in theCitty of London and,
thattheyhave not since obtained any legal Settlement elsewhere:
Therefore, we the Justices, upon the Proof aforesaid, and other Circum-
stances, do adjudge and deem the place of the last legal settlement or the
saidfour personto be in thePresinct of Whitefryers
in theCitty of London and whither by
Law the saidalice Hall< no role > & her three Children aforesd

command you, and every of you, forthwith, upon fifth hereof, to re
move, and convey the said

Years and Temperance< no role > aged about 10 years
from, and out of the saidParishofPresinct of White Fryers

in theCitty of London and deliverthem
(together with this Precept) to theChurch Wardens andOverseers of the
Poor there, or some, or one of them, who are hereby required to receive,
and provide forthemaccording to Law. Hereof fail not at your
Perils. Given under our Hands and Seals this17thDay ofNovembr
