We whose hands and Seals are hereunto Sit two of his Majesties
Justices of the Peace for the County of Midlesex one whereof being
of the Quor notwithstanding within the Limitts of the Parish
Church of the Parish of St. Gyles's in the Fields in the said
County having met together and heard the Complaint of the
Church waarden and Overseers of the Poor of the Said Parish of
St: Gyles's in the Fields concerning a Female Bastard Child born
in the Said Parish on the Body of Ann Curtis< no role > Singlewoman on
the thirteenth day of this Instant Month of April which is
baptized Ann< no role > and hath ever Since the Birth thereof been Charge-
able to the said Parish and is so likely to continue Do find upon
Examination of the Said Ann Curtis< no role > taken upon Oath that one
Mr. Stephen Morris< no role > at the Rose Tavern in St: Mary le Bone
did beget on the Body of her the Said Ann Curtis< no role > the Said
Female Bastard Child We the Said Justices do adjudge him the
Said Stephen Morris< no role > the Putative Father of the Said Female
Bastard Child And do order and appoint him the Said Stephen
Morris< no role > forthwith upon Notice of this our Order to pay to the
Said Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor or to Some or one
of them the Sume of Forty Shillings of lawfull money of Great
Britain already expended by the Said Churchwardens and
Overseers of the Poor for Relief of the Said Female Bastard
Child for the first four [..] after the Birth thereof and for the
Charge of her Lying with also that he the Said Stephen Morris< no role >
Shall Weekly and every Week from thence forth pay to the Said
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor or to Some or any of
them the Sume of Two Shillings and Six pence of like lawfull
money for and towards the Relief and Maintenance of the
Said Female Bastard Child for So long time as the Said Female
Bastard Child Shall remain chargeable to the Said Parish and
that he Shall of and from the Charge of the Said Female Bastard
Child at all times hereafter Save harmless and indempnify the
Said Parish of St: Gyles's in the Fields Given under our Hands
and Seals this Nine and Twentyeth day of April Annoq Dom
