County of Middx : And the Church Wardens &
Overseers of the Poor of the parish of Allhallows
Steyning in ye City of London respectively

Whereas Complaint hath this Day been made
unto Us two of His Majestys Justices of the Peace for the County of Midd
(Quorum unus) by you the Church Wardens & Overseers
of the poor of the parish of St. Botolph Aldgate in
the sd: County of Middx That Ann< no role > the wife of
Paul Okey< no role > wth. her two Children Mary< no role > aged two
Years, & Paul< no role > aged ten weeks are come into your
said parish not having obtained any legall Settlement
there, and are likely to become chargeable thereto
by reason of their poverty unless timely prevented
wth: complaint wee adjudge to be true. And for as much
as it appears unto Us by ye Oath of Mary Cockayne< no role > Mother
of the said Paul Okey< no role > that abt. nine Years since the sd: Paul
was bound an Apprentice by Indenture for the term of Seven
Years to One Mr Daniell King< no role > a Chinaman then living in
the parish of Allhallows Steyning in ye said City of London ,
wth: whom he served two Years part of his Apprenticeship
and then went to Sea and hath not obtained any subsequent
Settlement Wee the said Justices are therefore of oppinion
and do adjudge the place of the last legall Settlement of the said Ann Okey< no role >
and her two Children Mary< no role > & Paul< no role > abovesd: to be in the
said parish Allhallows Steyning in ye said City of London
and that thither to they ought by law to be sent.

These are therefore in the Majesty's Name to will & require
you to Remove and Convey the said Ann Okey< no role > wth: her two
Children Mary< no role > & Paul< no role > from and out of your said Parish of
St Botolph Aldgate in the said County of Middx to the said
parish of Allhallows Steyning London and them leave with
the Church Wardens & Overseers of the poor there, or One of
them, who is and are hereby required to Receive & provider
for them according to Law. Hereof fail not and this shall be
Your Warrant. Given under our hands & Seals the 17th
Day of December Anno Dui 1726.
