To his Majties: Justices of the peace for the County of Middlesex
at their General Quarter Sessions now holden at Hicks Hall
in St: John Street in and for the Said County

In pursuance of an Act of Parliament made in the second year of
the Reign of King William and Queen Mary, intitled An Act for paving
and Cleansing the Streets in the Cities of London and Westminister, and-
Suburbs and Liberties there of, and out Parishes in the County of Middlesex
and in the Borough of South Wark, and other places within the weekly B [..]
of Mortality, in the County of Surrey, and for regulating the Marketts
therein mentioned. We two of his Majties. Justices of the peace for the County
of Middlesex (Quor unus) and both residing within the Tower Division
in the Said County do Certify that We have viewed and inspected a [..]
Street or way called Holywell Lane in the Parish of St Leonard Shoreditch
in the Tower Division aforesaid, great part of the Houses and Tonements
of which Said Street have been lately erected and built, and do upon such
our View and inspection find that great part of Holywell Lane aforesaid
(Viz) from the Pavement to the West End of the said Lane containing in
Length about One hundred and twenty three foot which hath never
been paved, for want of good Order therein is almost unpass able to
Passengers, And his our Opinion and We do Adjudge that all that part
of the Said Lane from the Pavement to the West End thereof as aforesaid
oughs to be paved with Stone by Order from this Court the better
to prevent the many mishciefs and inconveniences that may otherwise
happen to his Majties: subjects whose occasions oblige them to pass that
way, and that John Potter< no role > Francis Coleman< no role > Richard Butter< no role > Ambrose
