WHEREAS it appeareth unto Us, whose Hands and Seals
are hereunto set, Two ofhisMajesties Justices of the
Peace for theCounty of Middlx
(Quorum unus) upon the Complaint of the Church-Wardens and Over-
seers of the Poor of the Parish ofSt Giles without Cripplegate
in the saidCountythatSarah < no role > the wife of Robert
Moakes
< no role > with her two Children Martha < no role > aged about
three yeares old and James < no role > aged about three
months old are
lately come into the said Parish, endeavouring to settle
themselvesthere without giving Notice in Writing to the said
Church-Wardens, or Overseers of the Poor, or any one of them, of the
House oftheirabode in the said Parish, according to
the Statute in that Case made and provided; And that the saidSarah
Moakes
< no role > and her two Children by reason of their poverty
are
likely to become Cargeable to the said Parish: which We adjudge to be true And whereas it appeareth
unto us,the said Justices upon the Oath of the said Sarah.

thather said Husband waslast legally settled in the parish ofSt.
Leonard Shoreditch in the said County and no other legall
Settlement elsewhere appearing unto us since Wee doe alsoe
adjudge the said parish of St Leonard Shoreditch in the Said
County to be the place of this last legall Settlement

These are therefore inhisMajesties Name strictly to Charge and Com-
mand you and every of you, forthwith upon fight hereof to remove and
convey the saidSarah Moakes< no role > and her two Children
from the said Parish ofSt Giles worst Cripplegate
in the saidCountyto the said Parish ofSt Leonard
Shoreditch is the said County
and deliverthemunto the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the
Poor there, who are hereby required to provide forthem
according to Law: Hereof fail not at your Perils. Given under our Hands
and Seals, the18th day of May in the ninth Year
of the Reign of our Soveraign Lord George by the Grace of God,
of Great Britain, France, and Ireland, King Defender of the
Faith, Etc. Annoq; Dom. 1723

To the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the Parish ofSt Giles without Cripplegate in the Said County
And to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the
Poor of the Parish ofSt Leonard Shoreditch in the Said County
And all others whom it doth or may concern, Etc.
