wardens of the parish of St. Mary le Strand als Savoy in the sd. County Robert
Nicholson< no role > William Soley< no role > Robert Sparke< no role > John Verdon< no role > William Wilson< no role >
Francis Saul< no role > Charles Singleton< no role > John Morris< no role > James Fuller< no role > [..] Henry Green< no role >
Andrew Parnell< no role > Robert Shelley< no role > Thomas Nicholls< no role > and John Walsh< no role > all of
the same parish and divers other Inhitants

Sheweth

That it hath been the custome of the said Parish time out of mind for the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor there together with such Inhitants who are of
the Vestry to assemble on Ascencion day in order to make a rate or assessment for the releife
of the Poor in the said Parish after previous notice first given

That contrary to the custome of the said parish as a aforesaid One of the present
Churchwardens with the Overseers have without notice first given as aforesaid to such
Inhitants who are of the Vestry proceeded to make a rate for the releife of the Poor there
for this present year in a very [..] equall as also unprecedented and illegall manner
and have since the making of the same rate by false misrepresentacons obtained the
confirmacon thereof by two of his Majestys Justices of the Peace for this County

Therefore your Peticoners conceiving themselves aggrieved therein
humbly appeale against the said Rate or Assessment as being unequall
& surreptitionsly obtained and Pray that the Churchwarden & Overseers
of the Poor of the said Parish may be ordered to attend this Court some day
this Sessions with the sd. Rate or in the mean time to have a Copy
thereof as to your Worships shall seem meet
