Robert wood< no role > of the parish of North Mims in the
County of Hertford yeoman maketh Oath that upon
the 17th. day July last past he this Deponent
had Notice of a Milch Ass (lately Stollen from
him) was found at Richmond in the County of
Surrey , And that two persons were taken up
at Hounslow in this County for stealing ye same
Upon which this Depont. went down to Richmond
aforesd, and there owned the Sd Ass to be his; And
then went to Hounslow where the Sd persons were
in Custody for Stealing the Sd Ass; but one of them
having made his Escape from the Constable; the other
one only was had before Justices Bulstrode senr.
and by him Comitted to Newgate for the said
Felony; Upon which the Constable Demanded of
this Depont. seven shillings for keeping the said
Prisonrs. all might, which the Sd Justice Bulstrode
Ordered this Depont. to pay him, And also told this
Depont. that there was a further Charge upon him
for the Sd Constables to carry the Sd Prisonr. to
Newgate, and told this Depont. that he must pay
that Charge likewise, for which the Constable
Demanded of this Depont. Seven shillings more which
this Depont. payd accordingly by Order & Comand
of the Sd Justice Bulstrode.
