Upon hearing of the appeale of the Churchwardens &
Overseers of the poor of the parish of Battersea in
the County of Surry against an Order under the
hands & seales of Robert Kyrby< no role > & Robert Dennett< no role >
Esqrs. two of his Maties. Justices of the peace for the County
of Middx (Quorum unus) beareing date the sixth day
of September last whereby a woman [..]
therein called Mary Smith< no role > the widdow and Relict of [..]
John Smith< no role > Labourer deced , with two children therein
called Joseph Smith< no role > aged about three yeares and
Ambrose Smith< no role > aged about four months (both the lawfull Issue
of the said Mary Smith< no role > and her said late husband
John Smith< no role > deced ) were conveyed form the parish of
St. John of Wapping in the said County of Middx to the
said parish of Battersea as the place of the last legal
settlemt. of the said John Smith< no role > deced , And upon
heareing of what was alledged by Councell for the
Inhitants of the said parish of St. John of Wapping &
alsoe by Councell for the Inhitants of the said parish
of Battersea , and upon examinacon of the sd. Mary< no role >
