[..] by an Order made at the Last Generall Quarter Sessions of the
peace holden for the County of Middx at Hicks hall in St John Street in & for
the said County by Adjornment on Thursday the Ninth day of Aprill last
upon reading the humble petcon of Alexander Bancroft< no role > John Smith< no role >
Thomas Duffin< no role > & John Carter< no role > exhibited unto the said Court Setting forth
that the petrs sd serve the Attend of Overseers of the poor for the Lordshipp
part of the parish of St Giles without Cripplegate in this County the Yeare
One thousand Seven hundred and Eighteen And that on Friday last before
the said Ninth day of Aprill the Accompts of the petrs were Stated and
allowed by Richard Browne< no role > & Thomas Rand< no role > Esqrs then two of his Maties
Justices of the peace for this County on ballance whereof there remained
in the petrs hands the Sume of One hundred pounds or thereabouts
which they were Ordered by the said Justices to pay over to Joseph
Anchors
< no role > Joseph Long< no role > Gabriel Kent< no role > & John Roycroft< no role > their Successors
the then prsent Overseers of the poor for Satisfaccon & payment of
the Arreare of five weeks pencon & casuall due to the poor there
Which they refused to receive & take from the petrs on that Condicon
whereby the said poor were almost starved and very clamerons agt
the petrs for the Moneys due to them And the petrs praying an Order
for the said Overseers of the poor to attend the said Court and Shew
cause why they should not receive and take the said Money and pay the
Arreares due to the pencon & casuall poor as aforesaid It was Ordered
[..] Court That the said Joseph Anchors< no role > Joseph Long< no role > Gabriel [..]
John Roycroft< no role > should attend the sd Court on the Ninth day of
[..] ill to Shew cause why they should not forwith receive from the
petrs the Moneys remaining in their hands upon the ballance of their
said Accompts & Pay the Arreares due to the pencon & casuall poor
of the said parish and that the petrs should attend the said Court
the Same time Then upon hearing of what was attend [..]
for the petrs and alsoe by the said prsent Overseer [..] of the
Councell for the petrs prayed that the said prs [..] of the
