this County and such others of his Maties Justices of the peace for
as shall think fit to be present or any three of them to be a
Comittee to Enquire into the truth of the said Complt And it is
further Ordered by this Court That Robert Hardisty< no role > Gent
Depty Clerk of the peace for this County and alsoe George
Cockayn< no role > Charles Walker< no role > John Rolfe< no role > and Francis Lindon< no role >
Gent Clerks to Simon Harcourt< no role > Esqr Clerk of the peace for
this County do from time to time attend the said Referrees at
such times & places as they shall appoint And that the said
Mr Hardisty do lay before the said Referrees a Register of
att the Licenses taken at the last Genl Renewing and returned
into the Office of the said Clerk of the peace and give the best
Accot he can of the time when the Old Licenses were brought
into the Office and when the New Licenses were filled up
and delivered out and to whom And that the said George
Cockayn< no role > Charles Walker< no role > John Rolfe< no role > and Francis Lindon< no role >
or Such of them who attended the Justices of the peace of this
County in their several Divisions at the said renewing and
took ate Accot in writing of the Licenses then granted to which
Accot the said Justices of the peace or some of them subscribed
their Names, do also from time to time attend the said
Referrees and lay before them the said Accot by them
respectively taken in the Divisions where they attended To
the end it may appear to the said Referrees what Licenses
were then granted and to whom and who by name were
refused Licenses for setting Beer & Ale by Retail and by
whom and for what cause. And it is further Ordered by this
Court That the Cryer of this Court and his respective Deptys or
Agents do also attend the said Referrees at such times & places
as they shall appoint with an Accot of what Licenses he hath
recd from the Office of the Clerk of the peace for this County and
from whom and how they have been disposed of and also with an
Accot of what persons he finds to Sell Beer & Alewhich were

without License in each Division within this County or prtend to
have Licenses to Sell Beer & Ale which were granted them since the
said General Renewing and by whom And the said Referrees are hereby
disired to Enquire and Report to his Maties Justices of the peace assembled
in General Quarter Sessions what Fees have been taken for
renewing of Old Licenses and granting of New Licenses and by whom
respectively And alsoe what Fees have been taken or demanded by the
Cover or his Agents on delivering out such Licenses and what
Sumes of Money (if any) have been demanded or taken of any
Victualers in this County and whom by name by any of the Clerks
belonging to his Maties Justices of the peace for this County of by
any Head boroughs or Beadles for Collecting or bringing in any Old
License to the Justices of the peace at the time of their said General
Renewing and whether they have from time to time retorned the
Licenses by them taken from the said Victualers to the Justices of the
peace of the Division where the same were to be renewed or what
is become of them And it is further Ordered That the said Referrees
be impowered to Inquire & inspect into all other Abuses matters &
things touching the granting or renewing of Licenses for Selling Beer
and Ale and other Liquors by Retail.
