Where as upon reading the humble peticon of William
Sterman< no role > Thomas Hyde< no role > Cornelius Harvey< no role > & William
Harvey< no role > of the parish of st. James Clerkenwell in this
County exhibited unto this Court on the thirtyeth day of
April last Setting forth that the Petrs. served the Office of
overseers of the poor of the said parish for the yeare
one thousand seven hundred & thirteen, dureing the
time of which said Office they did disburse & lay out in
paying the poor there of the sume of twenty five
pounds ten shillings & seven pence more then they
reced or their book amounted to, And that the petrs were
promised paymt. there of by Mr. Tobias Gibson< no role > the Succeeding
Church warden & other ancient Inhabitants from time
to time, but have been putt off with frivolous [..]
excuses and that the Petrs. stood in want of the same, And
the Petrs. praying they might be reimbursed their said
money, It was Ordered by this Court that it should be And
It was thereby recomended unto Richard Browne< no role > John
Fuller< no role > & Thomas Rand< no role > Esqrs . Justices of the peace for
this County or any two of them to sumon before them
the present & late Church wardens & overseers of the poor
& other ancient Inhabitants of the said parish of st. James
Clerkenwell, and to peruse & inspect the Petrs. accompts
touching the moneys by them reced & paid for the releif
of the poor of the said parish, and to allow or disallow
such part of the moneys by them charged for disbursmts
on accompt of the sd. poor as they shouldshallthink proper, and to
