This Court being informed that divers Waggoners and other
Carriers by combinacon amongst themselves have raised the
prices for carriage of goods in many places to excessive rates,
to the great detrimt. of severall of his Maties. Subjects resideing
in this County Doth Order that it be And It is hereby = = =
Recomended unto John Offley< no role > Charles Medleycott< no role > Joseph
Offley
< no role > Charles Greenwood< no role > John Fuller< no role > Alexander Ward< no role >
Michael Crake< no role > & George Owen< no role > Esqrs . Justices of the peace for
this County or any two or more of them to consider what
prices are reasonable to be allowed & paid for the land
carriage of goods to be brought into any place or places within
the weekly bills of mortality in this County by any comon
Waggoner or Carrier, haveing regard and makeing
difference of the prices in respect of the number of miles
which comon Waggoners or Carriers doe bring such
goods to any such place or places within the said weekly bills
of mortality, and of carrying the same in the Sumer or
Winter Season, And to certify their opinions touching the
premisses unto this Court, to the end the prices for the land
carriage of such goods may be assessed & adjusted by this Court,
as the law in such case directs.
