Whereas at the last Genll QuarterSessions of the Peace holden for their County by the Clement on Thursday the
Second day of June last past upon reading the humble peticond of Francis Geary< no role > late Keeper of Newprison in
this County praying Campany other things to be reinclosed the moneys by him expended in proceedings at LaneSetting forth
among other things that the Petr by his Grate the late Duke of Bedfords Order attended with a Peticond
to be Keeper of Newprison which was received and a Commes these thereupon to examine Witnesses
to the Mismanagemt of Mr. Boreman then Keeper of the said prison Upon examination whereof he
was found guilty of several Misdemeanor for which he was discharged of his Office and the Petr
admitted into his place that Boreman Stood in contempt and Crot a Certiorari and removed the
proceedings into the Queens Bench which rest the Petr therein and in Solliciting said further charges & expences above
One hundred & fourty seven pounds and that the Petr was discharged from his said Office without any
satisfacton made for the said charges & expences and the Petr praying to be reimbursed the same and likewise
upon reading the an Order of Reference made at the Genll Qur Sessions of the peace held for this County
at Hicks Hall by adjournmt on the tenth day of January in the tenth year of the reign of her late
Matic Queen Anne upon a former peticon of the said Geary and alsoe of the Report made thereupon
by the several of her late Matic Justices of the peace to whom the it was referred to consider of the sams
It was Ordered that (among other things) [..] it should be and it was thereby [..] Referred to the former Comee [..] whose hands & Leeds
are here the to be
and several others therein named his Maties Justices of the peace for this County and
such other his Maties Justices of the peace as should think fit to be Prsent to any five of them to Juspent
the said several peticons of the said Gery and the said Order & reports and to Certifie their opinions at
the next Genal Quarter Sessions of the peace to be holden for this County Now we whose hands &
seals are hereunto set his Matis Justices of the Peace for this County Upon reading the said Peticons
of the said Geary the said Orders of Reference & former Report doe Certifie that it is our opinion
that the sume of Fifty pounds be allowd to the said [..] Francis Geary in consideracon of
the Charges & Expences he has been at in the Prceedings at Law afore menconed which we
to receive were in Vindicacon & Asserting the Authority & rights of the Justice of the peace
of this County to the Nominacon & appointmt of the Keeper of New prison aforesaid
