Whereas due proofe hath been made before Us John Tully< no role > and
Charles Peters< no role > Esqr two of Her Majties. Justices of the
Peace for the said County and Libty (Quor. unus) Inhabiting next the Limitts of
the Parish Church of St. James in the said Libty of Westmr : Upon Oath of Priscilla
Overun
< no role > . a Singlewoman Mother of a Female Bastard Child borne on the: 30th day
of September Last in the House of one William Pennys< no role > in Brewers Streete in the
said Parish of St. James that one Dennis Holland< no role > did begett on the Body
of the said Priscilla Overun< no role > the said Female Bastard Child which Child is
become Chargeable to the sd Parish of St. James of which the Churchwardens and
Overseers of the Poore of the sd Parish have Complained Wee the sd Justices of the Peace
upon the Examination of the said Priscilla Overun< no role > .Mother of ye said Female
Bastard Child and other Convincing Circumstances us hereunto moving doe hereby
Adjudge & Declare the said Dennis Holland< no role > to be the reputed Father of
of the said Female Bastard Child borne of the Body of the said Priscilla
Overun
< no role > as aforesaid And thereupon Wee do Order as well for the releife &
to save harmlesse and Indempnified the sd Parish as for the maintaining and
keeping the said Bastard Child that the sd Dennis Holland< no role > shall pay or Cause
to be paid to the Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poore of the sd Parish
of St. James for the time being or to some or one of them the Summ of Eleaven
shillings and Six Pence [..] first four weeks from the Birth of the sd Child
and After the Expiration of the first four weeks the said Dennis Holland< no role >
shall pay or Cause to be paid to the Church Wardens & Overseers of the poor of
the sd Parish for the time being or unto some or one of them Weekely & every
Weeke the summ of two shillings and Six pence of Lawfull money of Greate
Brittaine for and towards the Maintainance, Support, and Releife of the said
Female Bastard Child for & during soe Long time as the said Female Bastard
Child shall remaine Chargeable to the said Parish And Lastly Wee do Order
that the said Dennis Holland< no role > doe forthwith upon sight of this our Order
(a true Coppy thereof being delivered unto him) Give sufficient Security for
the performance of the same or otherwise to find Securitys to Answer his
Contempt and to abide such farther Order as the Court of Justice Assembled
in their Quarter Sessions for the Liberty of Westminster shall think fitt
to make therein Given under our hands & Seales this Ninth day of
October Anno Dui: 1712 undecimo
