Upon reading the humble peticon of Fra: Geary< no role > Keeper
of New prison & Hen: Moult< no role > Governor. of the house of
Correccon in this County exhited unto this Cort setting forth
that the sd prisons not being strong enough for the keeping
& deteining of prisonrs. comitted to the petrs. care & charge
severall of such prisonrs. have of late broke out of the sd
prisons & made their escapes, and Pticularly severall
Convicts out of the sd House of Correccon, It was
therefore prayed by the petrs. that this Cort would be
pleased to Order a view to be taken of the sd prisons
and that some speedy & effectual care may be taken for the keeper
thereof
Whereupon It is thought fit & Ordered by this Cort that
it be And It is hereby recomended & referred unto

five or more of them to take a view of both the
sd. prisons, and to see if [..] r the same or either & wth. of them
are strong enough for the safe custody of the prisonrs
And if the same shall upon such view appr. to the sd Justices
comitted thereto of the peace to be out of repair &or if the same be [..] too weak & insuff.
forthat purpose, & in wt. parts, And tothe safe custody
of the prisonrs. comitted to the custody of the Keeps
of the sd prisons the sd Justices of the peace are
hereby desired to [..] consult such able workmen as they shall think fit and to see by wt. means
the sd prisons may be made secure, and wt. it will cost to put the same in effectual repair, And to
rept. their opinions touching the whole prmes unto her Maties. Justices of the peace on the 1st.
