The Order of Robert Constable< no role > & Robert Bateman< no role > Esqrs . her of his Maties Justices of the Peace
for the County of Middx (Quor lind) inhabiting [..] next unto the Limits where the Parish Church of
the Parish of St. Paul Shadwell is, made [..] thirteenth day of April in the year of Lord 1699 .
[..] well for the Relief of the aforesaid Parish as also for the Maintenance & keeping of a Male
Bastard Child begotten on the body of Mary Spence< no role > This name instance is in set 2671. the wife of Jonathan Spence< no role > Marrinr and born
in the Said Parish of St. Paul Shadwell on the Twentieth day of March in the year of or. Lord 1695
and afterwards [..] baptized by the Name of Albert. < no role > wch. is become chargeable to the Same Parish

We the said Justices of the Peace having (as well in Pursuance of an Ordr. made at the Genall Quarter
Sessions of the Peace holden at Hickshall in St. John Street in and for the Said County of Middlx on Wednesday
the 11th. day of January last past , as also upon the Complaint of the Churchwardens & Ovrseers of the Poor
of the Parish aforesaid) taken upon Us the hearing & Examinacon of the said Cause & Circumstances,
doe find by the Testimonics of severall Witnesses Examined before us upon their Severall Oaths, that the said
Jonathan Spence< no role > the husband of the said Mary Spence< no role > This name instance is in set 2671. was & remained in the Ship Pembroke at Cadir in the
Streights within the Dominion of the king of Spaine without the four Seas & without the Dominions of the king
of England long before & at the time the said Child was begot & ever after till and after the Birth of the
said Child; And that the said Mary Spence< no role > This name instance is in set 2671. during ale the Said time remained in England, and was not at
any time with her said husband within two Months before the said Child was begot or at anytime after
untill long after the said Child was born. And that Albert Albertson< no role > of the Parish of St. John of Wapping
in the said County Victualer . had Carnall knowledge of the body of the Said Mary Spence< no role > This name instance is in set 2671. at the house of
[..] Jonathan [..] Libty of the Tower of London Widw . in the absence of the sd.
Jonathan Spence< no role > her husband as aforesd. And did beget the said Male Child on her body being a Bastard Child.
And that the said Bastard Child ever Since the Said time of his birth, hath been Still is & is likely to continue
Chargeable to the Said Parish of St. Paul Shadwell . We doe therefore Adjudge him the Sd. Albert Albertson< no role >
to be the reputed Father of the Said Male Bastard Child, and doe Order him the Sd. Albert Albertson< no role >
forthwith to pay or cause to be paid unto the Churchwardens & Ovrseers of the Poor of the Sd. Parish of St.
Paul Shadwell or to Some or one of them the sume of Twelve Pounds & Ten Shillings of Lawfull Money
of England on Demand thereof, the said sume being already paid & necessarily expanded by the Church=
wardens of the Same Parish for the Nurseing Maintaining & keeping of the Sd. Male Bastard Childs;
and doe also pay or cause to be paid weekly & every week from the day of the date thereof unto the
Churchwardens & Ovrseers of the Poor of the said Parish of St. Paul Shadwell & their Successors. for the
time being or to Some or one of them the sume of two Shillings P Week of like lawfull Money of England;
towards the bringing up & maintaining the Said Male Bastard Child, And that he doe continue to make
the Said Weekly Payment So long as the Sd. Male Bastard Child Shall be a Charge to the Said Parish
Given under [..] r. hands & Seales the Sd. 13th. day of April Ano. Dm 1699 . Anno qr RRs Gul tcy Augl etc. undecimo
