The humble Peticon and appeale of sewall Inhabitants whose names
are hereunto Subscribed as well for themselves as other Land holders on
within the Hamlett of Stratford le bone and old ford in the Parish of
Stepney in the said County

Sheweth.

That after a new and unusuall manner a pound rate hath beene lately made for the Maintenance of
the poor of the said Hamlett for this prsent yeare one thousand six hundred ninety and nine without
respect had to personall Estates contrary to the knowne laws of this Realme and the rules and
method heretofore used in makeing the like assessements within the said Hamlett by the inequallity whereof
your Peticoners are greived and doe humbly appeale from the same

And pray that the overseers of the poore of the said Hamblett and
the Parishioners who were prsent att the makeing the said Rate may be
ordered to appeare at a certine day to be appoynted by your Worppl
to shew Cause why the said Rate Should not be quashed and a new Rate
be made according to law.

And your Peticonrs as in duty bound shall ever pray etc.
