this 26th. of February 1698.

Who upon her Oath Saith That last night about Eleaven
of the Clock one Thomas price< no role > came into her house and
asked to speake with two of her lodgers who were then
in bedd, not with standing which, he prost and went up
to them, & as she beleives speake with them, and then
went into a Roome over against the Lodgers Chamber
from whence he Stole a Streete value about Eight Shilling
throwing the bed Clothes on the floore, and brought the
Candle downe in his hand put out, which She had lent
him lighted to goe up.

The Examination of Thomas price< no role > taken before
me Ralph marshall shall Esqr. the day and yeare above said

This Examination being duely Examined Saith & Confesseth.
That last night about Eleaven of the Clock, he went to
the house of Samuell pack to speake with one George
Deberley< no role > , for whome he had taken a lodgeing in another
house, but finding the said Deberbly in Bedd, he left
him there, and came downe Emediately the Candle
which he had in his hand goeing out, as he came downe
Staires, & denyes he was in any other Roome in the said
house and Knoweth nothing of the Sheete with which
he is Charged to have Stolen.
