WHereas Complaint hath been made unto Us, whose Hands
and Seals are hereunto set, Two ofhisMajesties Justices
of the Peace of the County of middx (Quorum unus) by the
Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of theParish of
St. Mary White Chappell in the said County,
thatElizabeth Cooke< no role > widdow Late wife of John
Cooke
< no role > den having four Children vizt: Katherine< no role >
Jane< no role > , William< no role > & James. Cooke< no role > Did

lately come into the saidparishendeavouring
to settleherselfe & he sd childrenthere, without giving Notice in Wri-
ting to the said Church-Wardens, or Overseers of the Poor, or any
one of them, of the House ofherabode in the
saidpishaccording to the Satute in that Case made and
provided; And thatthe said Elizabeth Cooke< no role > with her
said four Children are

likely to become chargeable to the saidpishAnd whereas
it appeareth unto Us the said Justices upon the Oath ofthe Said
Elizabeth Cooke< no role > That her said husbands in his
[..] Lifetyme waslast legally settled in thepish of St: Giles Cripplegate
within the Freedom of the Citty of London where he Lives for abt: the Spark [..]
together next before the 19th day of May 1685 and that since his Decease she has made no other legall
Settlemt:These are therefore inhisMajesties Name straitly to Charge and
Command you and every of you, forthwith upon fight hereof to
remove and convey the saidElizabeth Cooke< no role > with her said
four Childrenfrom the saidpish of St: Mary White Chappell
in the said County, and so from Constable to Constable, the next and
directest way to the saidpish of St: Giles Cripplegate within the
Freedom of then said Citty of London
and deliverthemunto the Church-Wardens, Overseers of
the Poor there, who are hereby required to provide forthem
according to Law: Hereof sail not at your Perils. Given under our
Hands and Seals, thethirtyethday ofNovember and
