Whereas itt appeares to this Court that there is thirty out pounds
Seaventeen Shillings & two pence remaining & unpaid to John
Driver< no role > & John Burchett< no role > surveyor . of the Highways of the pish of
Chelsea in this County for the yeare last past upon the ballance
of their Accompts which [..] have been duly examined andited allowed and
confirmed And whereas [..] this Court is informed that [..]
of the [..] Inhitants of the said pish have not done & p formed [..]
their statute work in the said Highways the said last yeare either
by themselves [..] Servants or Labourers nor contributed any monys
to the repaire thereof but still refuse to pay their equall
Sharer & P porcons computed & charged on them for such their
neglect & defaults Itt is thought fitt & ordered by this Court that
itt be & itt is hereby recomended & referred to St John Etiver< no role > Kt Rich [..] Wood< no role > Thomas Alston< no role >
Esqr. & Dr. Edward Chamberlaine< no role > [..] Justices of
the peace for this County [..] Jusitugs in & near there pish or any 2 of them to advise aslist & direct the said late
Surveys of the Highways in the collecting [..] of the monys charged on [..] such
defaulter & to cause the payment thereof to the end the Said
late Surveyors. may be reimbursed the monys Soe due to
them as aforesaid And in case the said defaulter's shall obstinately refuse
to pay the monys respectively computed charged on them as aforesaid
that then the said Justices or any 2 of them are hereby [..] desired to find out some other
may to charge & levy the same upon the said Defaulters [..]
this Yeare [..] sueing or otherwise determine as to [..] the said Justices of any 2 of them Shall seem meet for reimbursing
the said late Surveys. the mony [..] that shall remains due to
them & which cannot be collected & [..] reced of the said Defaulters.
