This Informt: upon his Duty saith that two Men came to him
at the Cart & horse in Sohoe between 5 & 6 in the Evening on
Thursday last & asked him to go downe into a Vault to lake up
a thing that was left & Heywonle gratifye him, & heforth
saith went to a new House in Chappell Street in St. Anns where
they had him into one House & Looked into a Vault & said if
was not the House but in the Middle House they put him and
a shed into the Yard & told him there was the Vault & having
borrowed a Ladder one of the Men (he who changed his
Coal & whome the Constable & Beadle did call by his Name)
directed him in what part of the Vault he Should find the
bagg, & when he had it in his hands, cosneing up the Ladder
the sail Man clapt this Informt. on the shoulder & told
him there was fifty pounds in it, besides Clipping & said
Boy lett us take the money out & throw the Clippings into
the Vault, then look further, & said there was a £100 more
in the Vault, but hearing this Informt. say he wents carry
the Bagg to a Justice: recalled him selfe & said hang't there's
noe more for the folks have been there already & when
he had the Talehell up, the sd Man untyed it & sd. dropt
out, which he bidt this Informt. take & put in his pockett
And this Informat. laid the bagg on the pactiles (While her
was getting over) & the Constable (Who wth the Beadle &
other Man flood without the Wall in the next Years) Inmates
away the bagg & would not lett him have it, tho' he cryed
Since I have had the Honour to find it, lett me have the
Honour to carry it before a Justice, & goeing along the Man
that guided him to find it per swaded this Informt to go
into the Beedles house in Ayres Street and the Beedle
croft the Road & Pr Lended to go Soe if the Justice was at
home (but he had not been there) and said the Justice
was
