Order for Vacating as
Former Order for Suspending
the Erecting of a Watch
house at Cowerosse
}
Whereas at the General Quarter Sessions of the Peace held for
this County by Adjournmts. the Twentieth day of January last
upon
motion made by Mr. Upton of Councell with the Inhabitants of the
Hill in the Parish of St. Sepulchres
in this County that a day might
be Appointed for the hearing of the matter concerning the Erecting of as
Watch house upon the said Hill near the Whipping post there and
that in the mean time the Execution of an Order made for Erecting the
said Watch house might be Staid Itt
[..] was Ordered that the said Inhabitants
of the Hill should be heard touching the Premisses this day att Hickshall
aforesaid att Tenn of the Clock in the Forenoon and that the said
Constables Headboros. and other Antient Inhabitants att whose request
the said Order was Obtained upon notice of the said Order should Attend
this day att the time and place aforesaid and that in the mean time
the Execution of the said Order for Erecting a Watch house should be
Suspended Now upon the motion of Mr. Darnall of Councill with the
said Constables Headboros. and other Antient Inhabitants of the said
Parish who now Attended this Court and prayed to have the said last
Order discharged for that the want of a Watch house had Already
Occasioned the Death of several Watchmen and the place appointed
to Erect the same was upon the most Convenient place in the whole
Parish for that Purpose and the said Inhabitants of the Hill neglecting to
Attend this Court or shew any Cause against the Erecting of the said
Watch house Itt is thought fitt and Ordered by this Court that the said
Recited Order for suspending the Erecting of the said Watch house be
and the same is hereby discharged and Vacated.
