Order for a double
Watch in the night &
ward in the day time.

}
Upon Complaint made to this Court that the Watches within the
several Parishes Hamblets Precincts and Liberties within this
County are Sett to late and that the Petty Constables and Head boros-
of the said Parishes Hamblets Precincts and Liberties discharge their
watches too Early in the Morning and keep noe Ward in the day
time whereby great mischiefs have happened within this County
For the better preservation of their Maties Peace within this County
and for Preventing any danger that may therein happen for the
future by not keeping sufficient Watches and Wards Itt is Ordered by
this Court that the Petty Constables and Headboros. of every Parish
Hamblett Precinct and Liberty within this County doe forthwith upon
Notice of this our Order Sett and Place in their respective Parishes
Hambletts Precincts and Libertys a Sufficient Watch and Double
the Number of Watchmen before the makeing of this Order usually
appointed and that the said Watch be from henceforth constantly
sett kept and continued from nine of the Clock in the Evening untill
the hour of Five in the morning and the said Wards be sett and kept
from Five of the Clock in the Morning untill nine of the Clock in
the Evening and that the said Watches be not dismissed untill they
be releived by the said Watches and it is further Ordered by this
Court That the High Constables of every Division in this county
doe take speedy cares of the due Execution of this Order and upon
sight hereof apply themselves unto the Justices of the Peace
of this County in their respective Divisions to consider in what
Places the said watches and Wards may be from times to time
most conveniently kept and placed And this Court doth likewise
hereby recommend itt to the care of their Maties Justices of the
Peace att their Petty Sessions within their several Divisions in this
County to see that this Order be duly Observed and Obeyed within their
respective Divisions for the Welfare and safety of their Maties
Subjects and doth require all High and Petty Constables and all
other Persons Concerned in this Execution of this Order to yield due
Obedience thereinto as they and every of them will answer the
Contrary att their Perills And it is Further Ordered by this Court
That the Clerk of the Peace for this County doe forthwith cause
this Order to be Printed and affixed upon the Great Gates of Hickshall
and distributed to the severall High Constables within this County who
