passing of Vagrants

Upon reading the humble Petition of Henry Hodges< no role > one
of the Petty Constables of SouthminsthisCounty Exhibited
into this Court setting forth that atday last there
was due and owing unto, him twenty pounds for half a
years Salary for Passing and Conveying of Vagrants
through this County, And that in Easter Sessions following
the Petitioner obtained an Order of Court upon Mr. John
Mills< no role > the Treasurer for payment of the same who assured
the Petitioner that he had not so much left where with to pay
him, by which means the Petitioner is still kept out of his
Money to his great disadvantage, being obliged to borrow
Money upon credit of the said Order, And the Petitioner prayed
relief in the Premisses, This Court being satisfyed that such
Order was made as aforesaid for payment of the said
Sume of twenty pounds to the Petitioner, and that he is not
yet paid the same, Doth Order that Robert Hardisty< no role >
Gentleman Deputy Clerk of the Peace of this County Do
out of the Vagrant money to him paid by the said John
Mills and by Robert Kent< no role > Gentleman late high Constable
of Kensington Division in this County pay unto the said
Henry Hodges< no role > the said Sume of Twenty Pounds
being in full for the allowance made him for his
loss of time and expences in Passing of Vagrants
for half a Year ending at Lady day last, And that
the Receipt of the said Henry Hodges< no role > together with
this Order shall be a sufficient Discharge to the
said Robert Hardisty< no role > for such payment.
