At the General Session of the peace of our Lord
the King holden in and for the County of
Middlesex at the Session House for the said
County (by adjournment) on Thursday the
first day of December in the Thirty Seventh
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George
the Third King of Great Britain Etc. Before

The Revd. Dr. Glasse laid before the Court the Report
of the Prison Committee and the same being Read as follows Vizt.

Report from the Prison Committee to the
Session December 1st. 1796.

The Committee having met twice since the last Session
beg leave to lay before the Court their proceedings at those
several Meetings as follows At their first Meeting at the
Session House on Tuesday the 8th. of November at which ten
Magistrates were present the Resolution of the last Session, that
the Committee do enquire into the Practicability and propriety
of applying a part of the New House of Correction to the uses
of the New Prison and Report thereon to the Court, as this
Day was taken into their serious Consideration Mr. Newport
the Keeper of New Prison was called in and being examined by
