new House of Correction
and further stated that Thomas
Nicholson the Clerk
to Mr.. Aris the Governor had many
Accounts to keep and much business to do respecting
the Prison which Occupied the whole of his time and
recommended from the Committee an increase of allowance
to the said Thomas Nicholson< no role >

Resolved That his Allowance be increased from
21st. to 30sh. Per Week during the pleasure of this Court.
Resolved That the Windows of the Kitchen in
the New House of Correction be lowered.
Resolved That an Open Grating be made of
Iron to admit light into the Passages East and
West on the Ground floor of the Prison which are
very dark.
Resolved That the Prison Committee be desired
to examine the House of Correction
and the Quakers
Ground and Buildings adjoining thereto and to
consider whether it would not be proper to allot
a part of the scite of the Old House of Correction or
some part of the Quakers Ground to be laid to the
New Prison
with a view of making the same more
commodious and airy.

be permitted to serve
the Prisoners in New Prison
at Clerkenwell
and the
House of Correction
in Cold Bath fields
with Bread until
the County Day of the next Session.
