"Profession and that he would be capable of conducting the practice without my
"being obliged to give that constant attention which I had been wont to do
"when to business was wholly dependent on myself. Having since very
"unhappily met with many causes of dissatisfaction with regard to this
"Gentlemans practice among my private Patients, I thought it my Duty
"immediately on discovering them to attend regularly at the Prisons myself
"here, I unfortunately found that he had been much mistaken in his Reports
"of the cases of some of the Patients: These cases (without the least idea of
"committing any Error or Offence towards the Governors) I noted in the Book
"in order that Mr Good might make them more immediately the objects of
"his attention in case he should visit them again. If in doing this I have
"erred against the established Regulations or Forms of the Institution, I wou'd
"beg the Gentlemen to accept this fact as my excuse; that it was done
"inadvertently, and was not an Error of intention.

"The circumstances I have now noticed together with other disputes
"and occasions of dissatisfaction (with which it were rude to trouble this
"Meeting) have induced me to purchase from Mr Good a dissolution of the
"Partnership, in order that the whole practice may again rest on myself,
"and that it may be conducted as heretofore at my House in Red Lion Square
"our separation has accordingly taken place and is dated from the 31st. day of
"January last past.

"A hue statement of my conduct and of my present situation being
"thus laid before the Meeting, I feel myself happy, in relying wholly on the
"determination of the Gentlemen now assembled, at the same time begging to
"assure them, that should they have the goodness to honor me with their
"confidence by continuing me Apothecary to the Prisons (and which I would
"beg leave humbly to solicit) they may fully depend on my using my utmost
"exertions punctually and carefully to fulfill the Duties of that Office as well to
"shew my sense of this new Mark of their Favor, as to assure them of the
"respect and the gratitude, which I already owe them, for their kindness and
"support in procuring me the late Election.

"I have the, honor to be, with much respect.
"Sir , "Yr. Oblig'd & very Obt. Servant
"John Walford< no role > ".
