A Petition from Henry Adams< no role > This name instance is in set 1591. Contractor for Conveying Vagrants
in through and out of this County being presented to the Court and Read
as follows vizt.

"To the Worshipful Wm Mainwaring< no role > Esqr . the Chairman
and the Rest of His Majestys Justices of the Peace for the
County of Middlesex in their General Session of the peace
held for the said County in the Month of February 1787.
Assembled.

The Petition of Henry Adams< no role > This name instance is in set 1591.
Humbly Sheweth

That your Petitioner is the Contractor for
Conveying Vagrants in through and out of this County and hath been
so ever since April Session 1774.

That at the General Session of the peace held
for this County in September 1785 Your Petitioner applied to the Court and
Stated that the Number of Vagrants Convey'd by him had so much increased,
that during the Year Ending in April 1785 he had Removed 4244 Vagrants
by virtue of 3329 Passes which was 1038 Vagrants by 954 Passes more than
the Number by him Removed during the Year Ending in April 1784 and in
consequence of that Application the Court were Pleased to Allow your
Petitioner the Sum of £100 for the Extra Expence Trouble and attention
brought upon him by the great Increase of Vagrants during that Period.

That your Petitioner hath Convey'd 4002 Vagrants
by 3164 Passes between April Session 1785 and April Session 1786 which
is nearly Equal to the Number Removed by him the preceeding Year

Your Petioner therefore Humbly Prays Your
Worships to grant him such further Relief as in
Your Wisdom & Judgment shall seem meet

And your Petitioner will Ever Pray Etc
