October 1782

Jacob Leroux< no role > Esqr . one of His Majestys Justices of the peace for this
County and one of the Committee appointed as the last Session of the
peace holden for this County to inspect and methodize the accounts of
the Treasurer for this County especially as to those matters [..] which relate
to the Militia Reported that the said Committee had proceeded under
their referrence and had come to the following Resolution Vizt
"Recommended that in future the whole of the Treasurers Account by
"Kept by way of double Entry and an abstract of the several Accounts of
"Balance drawn out on a Street of paper to be laid before the Sessions
"when called for instead of the Book heretofore Ordered." Whereupon
it was Moved and the Question put that the Court do agree with the Committee in the
above resolution and the same passing in the Affirmative. It was
Ordered accordingly And it was further Ordered that it be referred
to the said Committee to state an account of the Moneis which
appear to be due to this County under and by virtue of the
Militia Laws and report their opinion of the best made of recovery
the same.

By adjournment same day

Jacob Leroux< no role > Esqr . one of the Committee appointed at the last Session
of the peace for this County under whose direction the Guard House
was ordered to be repaired Reported that the said Committee had
proceeded in Execution of their referrence that the amount of [..]
necessary to be done would be about £41 that the Committee had
contracted for the performance thereof and the said Repairs were
now carrying into execution It is Ordered that the said Committee
have leave to sit in further prosecution of their referrence and that they
and are hereby empowered to draw upon the Treasurer of this County
for the payment of the Workmen employed in the said Repairs for a
Sum or Sums of Money not exceeding in the whole the Sum of £40
the Treasurer of the County is hereby required to answer the Draf [..]
Orders of the said Committee to the amount aforesaid

By adjournment same day.

An Act of parliament made and passed. in the 22d. Year of the
Reign of his present Majesty entitled "An Act for the amending and
"rendering more effectual the Laws in being relative to the Houses of
"Correction." being laid before this Court and the same being Reads
It was moved and the question put that William Mainwaring< no role > Esqr
one of His Majestys Justices of the peace for this County and
Chairman of the General and General quarter Sessions of the per [..]
for this County be nominated and appointed pursuant to the
directions of the said Act of Parliament to examine and inspect
Houses of Correction within the Jurisdiction of this Court and [..]
Chairman consenting thereto the same was agreed to resolved
and ordered accordingly.
