Sir John Hawkins< no role > the Chairman of the Sessions having
laid before the Court the following Letters and the same being read

"Sir "

"In pursuance of Lord Barringtons request, I am to desire
"the favor of You to communicate the contents of his Lordships Letter, of
"which the inclosed is a Copy to His Majestys Justices of the peace assembld
"at the Michaelmas Session

"The places within the County which have occurred to me as
"most likely to furnish the greatest number of Recruits are Brentford , Stains
"Uxbridge , Barnet and Enfield . If any other place should appear to you
"or the Gentlemen at the Session more likely to answer the End of the Act,
"or if, of those I have enumerated, two or three only should appear come [..]
"for the Commissioners to meet in, I am persuaded his Lordship will
"think himself obliged by a proper Intimation

"Immediately after my Return to Town which I Expect will
"be in a Week or Ten Days, I shall attend Lord Barrington with the
Result of this Communication, and shall think myself happy to have it
in my power to Convey to their Lordship the Opinion of Gentlemen
so well affected to the public Service and whose Knowledge of the State
of every part of the County of Middlesex eminently Qualifies them
to give Advice on this important occasion

Gentlemen

In my Letter to You of the 4th. of June last, I acquainted You
that it was not thought proper at that Season of the Year to Execute the
late Act for the more Easy and better Recruiting His Majestys Land
Forces and Marines, any where except in Great Towns, but in
conformity with Your Opinion it has since been Carried into Execution
within the Bills of Mortality. I have now the honor to apprize You
that while the Troops Continue to be kept much together, I fear there will
not be a possibility of furnishing a sufficient number of Officers to
assist on carrying the Act into Execution in all those places in the
County of Middlesex where the Commissioners may desire to have
it enforced
