At this Court the Committee of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for
This County appointed to examine whether the Alterations & repairs
lately Ordered to be made and performed at New Prison & the House of
Correction at Clerkenwell has been done And what further might be
necessary to Compleat the same was Delivered in and read as follows

To the Worshipful His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for
the County of Middx in their General Session assembled

Your Comittee in Pursuance of the Order of Court made in the last Session
met on Tuesday last and went to New Prison and the House of Correction
at Clerkenwell And upon inspection found that all the Business Ordered
to be done at the said Prisons has been performed That it is further
Necessary to Point and stop the Wall in the Woman's Room in the House
of Correction And to put a Slit Deal lining of Three Feet and a half high from
the Bench That the Brick Pavement of the Shed in the Yard belonging to
the House of Correction requires Amendment That the Doorway at the Head
of the Stairs leading to the Woman's Ward should be bricked up That there
should be a Pavement of small Pebbles four feet wide from the Garden Door
to the Womans Work Room And also to the necessary in the House of Correction
That the seperations intended at both the said Prisons being now compleated
the Keepers of the same should be respectively Ordered to Seperate their
Prisoners forthwith agreable to the intentions of the Court All which
your Committee Submit Etc

Which said Report Is hereby in all things confirmed And it is ordered
that the Several particulars therein mentioned necessary to be done and
Compleated by proper Workmen under the Direction of Boulton
Mainwaring Esqr . one of His Majestys Justices of the Peace for the County
And it is further Ordered that the Men Prisoners kept and confined in
each of the said Prisons be with all convenient speed seperated from the
Women Prisoners And that all the Men and Women Prisoners to be from
hence forward sent or committed to the said Prisons respectively be regularly
kept confined at the proper Apartments by the several Keepers according to
the Intention of the Court in making the said seperations As they will
