one Distempered Bullock, and three Pounds two Shillings and
ten pence received of Mrs. Rayner for Old Lead reced from
New Prison And thirty eight Pounds reced of Mr. Pentlow for
two years Rent of New Prison with the twelve hundred Pound
this present Rate the whole amounts to the Sum of fourteen
hundred Seventy two Pounds fifteen Shillings and five pence
three farthings And that it also appeared to the Said Committee
that the Said Treasurer has paid and disbursed out of the Same
the Sum of fourteen hundred thirty three Pounds two Shillings
and ten pence And that the Ballance remaining in his
hands is thirty nine Pounds twelve Shillings and Seven pence
three farthings And the Said Committee are of opinion that
another Rate Should be made for the raising of more Money
to answer the Ends and Purposes of passing Vagrants and
to pay the Inspectors of the distempered Cattle and Clerks Fees
and for paying for Bread for the Prisoners in the House of Correction
at Clerkenwell the Keepers of Bridewell Salarys The
Coroners of this County for taking Inquisitions, Prosecutors
for prosecuting Felons and for Several other Purposes, And
that the Said Committee have inspected and perused the Account
of the Said Mr. Higgs as Treasurer of the County Rents and his
Disbursements thereout Since the last Audit which was the
26th. of March 1752 and the Ballance then remaining in his
hands was one hundred and ten Pounds Sixteen Shillings and
eight pence, And that he has reced Since for two years and
half Rent of the Quakers Workhouse at thirty Pounds per
Annum the Sum of Seventy five Pounds due at Michas last
And for half a years Rent due at Michas last of the next
house which was usually called the White house or Mulberry
Garden lately let by Lease to the Quakers from Lady day last
for Sixty five years and a half at twelve per Annum the
Sum of Six Pounds, And also for Goods Seized for Rent of
John Bray< no role > the Sum of Six Pounds, And that the Said Treasurer
has also reced of Mr. & Mrs. Northcote the Housekeeper at
