Order for continuing and
electing Thomas Lane< no role >
Esqr . to be Chairman
of the Court.}

His Majesty< no role > 's Justices of the Peace for the County of Middx
assembled at this present General Session of the Peace
holden for the Said County do Continue and Elect Thomas
Lane Esqr. to be Chairman of the General Quarter and
General Sessions of the Peace to be holden for the Said
County of Middx between Michas 1748 and Lady day
then next ensuing.

By adjournmt. on Thursday the 8th. Day of Septr. 1748.

Order for payment of
Moneys to the Inspectors
of the distempered Cattle
in Middx.}

Application having been made unto the Court of the
last Sessions of the Peace for this County by Joseph Walker< no role >
Edward Tomkins< no role > & Thomas Lane< no role > Inspectors appointed
to use their Endeavour to put a Stop to the distemper
amongst the horned Cattle in the Said County Setting forth
that the Sum of £19.5s. is due to each of them for their
respective Services from the 21st. of April 1748 exclusive
to the 7th. of July 1748 inclusive being 77 days at 5s. a day
and praying that an Order might be made for paying to each
of them the Said Sum of £19.5s. of which they delivered an
Account of the Said last Sessions, which being referred to the
Consideration of a Committee of his Majesty< no role > 's Justices of the
Peace, This Court being Satisfyed that each of them
ought to be paid the Same, Doth Order that Mr. John Higgs< no role >
Treasurer of this County do pay the Sum of Nineteen Pounds
and five Shillings to the Said Joseph Walker< no role > , Nineteen
Pounds and five Shillings to the Said Edward Tomkins< no role > and
Nineteen Pounds and five Shillings to the Said Thomas Lane< no role >
in full of their Said respective Demands, and also the Sum of ten
Shillings unto John Westbrooke< no role > another Inspector for his Service
from the 21st. of April 1748 exclusive to the 23d. inclusive (the
time he was discharged) being two days at five Shillings a day
And that the respective receipts of the Said Persons Shall be
Sufficient Discharges to the Said Treasurer for Such respective
Payments.
