Report touching
repaires done
to Brentford
Bridge & moneys
due to workmen
We whose names are Subscribed Do hereby Certifie That (in pursuance
of an Order made at the Genll. Sessions of the peace holden for the said
County at Hicks Hall in St. John Street
by adjornment on Thursday
the third Day of December in the fourth year of his present Maties
Reign, a true Copy of which is hereunto annexed) we On or about
the fifteenth day of January Anno Dom 1730 Did meet together
& take a view of Brontford Bridge
in the said Recited Order menconed,
& found the Same very Ruinous Dangerous & out of Repair, and
thereupon Did Order & Direct

of the parish of Isleworth
in the Said County Carpenter forthwith to stop severall Holes
therein & to secure the same to prevent people who had occasion
to pass that way from Coming to some misfortune a Bill of which
Work is hereunto Annexed Amounting to £2..3s..8d, And That he the
said

should give as an Estimate of what was
further Necessary to be done in Repairing the said Bridge,
Whereupon the said
John Palmer< no role >
Did Draw up & deliver unto us
the Estimate also hereunto Annexed, And upon Our perusall and
enquiry into the same We did find That the work therein menconed
was not only very Necessary to be Done But that the severall
Articles therein Contained were Set at a very Reasonable & Moderate
price, And therefore Did Contract and agree with the said John
Palmer for the Repairing thereof according to the Said Estimate
the amount of which Comes to- £59..8s..10d- And We do further
Certifie that when the Work Agreed to be Done by the said Estimate
[..] was opened, It was found that severall
Joists
& other parts of the Bridge
not in the said Estimate
menconed & which were not perceptible before the said Work-
was Opened were Rotted and very much Decayed which were
very Necessary to be Repaired, Whereupon We further agreed with
the said

for the Repairing thereof, A Bill for which is
also hereunto annexed amounting to-£22..6s..10d which we
have also pused & Examined and are of Opinion that the
severall Articles therein Contained are set at a very Reasonable
& Moderate Price. and we do also Certifie that the Cart Bridge
through want of Gravell was worn to the Planting & Severall
