prevent Street robberys and other felonys, Have made a
Report unto this Court of an irregular proceeding of Francis
Jenison
< no role > Esqr . one of the Justices of the peace of this County in
dischargeing on Robert Jennison< no role > (before he had taken Bay to
for the appearance of the Said Robert Jennison< no role > at this
present Generall Sessions) the Said Robert Jennison Standing
committed to New prison at Clerkenwell in this County for
obstructing and threatening James Sharpless< no role > Gent High
Constable of Holborne Division in the Said County in the
Execucon. of his Office, he being upon a Search by vertue of a
warrant to him in that behalfe made for the discovery of
Street Robbers and other Malefactors, This Court upon reading
of the Said Report Doth approve of the Same, And doth
Order that Representacon. be drawn and made there upon
to the right honble. the Lord High Chancellor of Great
Britain to be Signed by his Maties. Justices of the peace of
this County assembled at this present Sessions, and that the
papers annexed to the Said Report be taken off and annexed
to the Said Representacon

Order for the Justices
to meet to choose a
Committee by way of
ballotting for Suppressing
Gameing houses Etc.

This Court taking into consideracon. the many pernicious
consequences proceeding from unlawfull gameing and
gameing houses, And being determined to use their utmost
endeavours to Suppress the Same Doth Resolve that the most
regular proper and effectual method of Suppressing
Gameing houses, Night houses and the other enormitys
menconed in the late Letters of the Lord Viscount Townshend
relating to Street robberys, is for this Court to appoint a
Committee of Justices of the peace to meet from time to time,
and they to report their proceedings to the Court, And doth
accordingly Order that a Committee of one and twenty
of his Maties. Justices of the peace of the Said County be
appointed for that purpose, And that Such Committee be
chosen by way of ballotting, And that all the Justices of the
peace of the Said County Shall be Sumoned to assemble
together for that purpose, And that notice be given to
acquaint them that they are desired on that occasion to
